Important Informations

  1. Prospective students are informed that their admission is subject to satisfactory verification of relevant original documents and fulfillment of all eligibility criteria of the Department and Admission Rules of Gauhati University.

  2. As per the relevant Ordinance, students who are doing or have completed a PG Course from GU will be considered for admission only after all fresh students (first timers) are admitted (even if their names/Roll no (s) is/are to be found in the merit list if any), provided any seat remains vacant after this, irrespective of any category except in case of AICTE, NCTE, BCI recognised Courses.

  3. Concerned department will verify all original documents at the time of admission.

  4. The admission to PG courses in affiliated college will commence from 5th October, 2021, on the basis of the GU Rank Lists published in this portal. Interested applicants are requested to contact respective colleges. The list of colleges having various PG courses can be found here.

Anti-Ragging Declaration

Prospective students are directed to attend the concerned Department with their original testimonials along with the ANTI-RAGGING undertakings as instructed in the on the date and time mentioned above, failing which their seats may be forfeited. The Heads of the Departments are requested to make special arrangements for verification of all original documents at the time of admission.

Admission Fee

Regarding the waiver of fee related to PG admissions for the session 2021-22, please see the notification of the Government of Assam, Higher Education Department, Guwahati vide letter No.PC/HE/Misc./42/2020/51 dated 6th September, 2021, through which Admission, Tuition fees etc. have been waived. However, the fee waiver will not include Self-Financing Courses and Hostel Admission Fees and also certain applicable fees (see below). The scheme will apply to the students as Assam domicile state.

Mode of Payment (for Self-Financed Courses / Domicile Outside of Assam Only)

Students have to log on to the GU Admission Portal using their Application ID and Password to pay the necessary admission fee starting the date of admission and have to produce the pay-in-slip in the concerned Department on or before 05-10-2021.
