Important : DHE Unique ID (DUI)
Any prospective student who wants to apply to Gauhati University and its affiliated colleges for admission into any postgraduate course MUST first register with the Departmenyt of Higher Education (DHE), Assam and ond obtain the DHE Unique ID. To obtain the DHE Unique ID, please visit http://dheonlineadmission.amtron.in/sp/ and follow the instructions there.
Once you obtain the DUI, please come back and continue filling up of GU admission form. Without this DUI, you will NOT be able to submit GU Admission Form.
Application Process

Students and parents/guardians are advised to visit the web-pages of particular departments and colleges for necessary information.
Keep ready all documents and information required to submit along with the Application Form.
An applicant can apply to one Traditional Course and two Interdisciplinary Courses only. Please check the list of Traditional and Interdisciplinary Courses.
The Application Form for Admission is editable, but once you finally submit, it will no longer be editable.
You can submit the form even if your result is not declared.
The Email ID and phone number of the students and parents/guardians may be used for further communication.
Please check the eligibility conditions before submission of the Online Application Form.
The provisional merit list of students will be published in the University website (this site) only.
Appearance of your name in the provisional merit list is not a guarantee of your admission. It depends on fulfilment of eligibility conditions and intake capacity of the department/colleges for the concerned Course.
All are advised to keep visiting this website for any update regarding the Admission process from time to time.
The University is not responsible for any unwanted technical failure which may disturb the admission process, either at the University end, or from the student’s end.
All prospective applicants can apply for one Traditional Course and a maximum of Two Interdisciplinary Course. It is extremely IMPORTANT that an applicant should apply to all three courses (if any) from one Login ID and the registration fee has to be paid together for all the three courses. If an applicant applies to multiple courses from different registration sessions (using different Login IDs), they will NOT be able to appear in the PGET 2023. In such cases, the Registration Fee paid WILL NOT be refunded.
Registration Fee
The registration is to be paid online while submitting the online application form. It includes the Application Fee of Rs.1000 (one thousand) for one subject / Rs.1500 (one thousand five hundred) for two subjects / Rs.2000 (two thousand) for three subjects. The Registration Fee is Non-Refundable. Kindly see your eligibility criteria before proceeding to pay this fee. Depending on the online payment gateway an applicant chooses, there may be mandatory bank charges apart from the registration fee, which needs to be paid.
Disclaimer
The registration fee once paid CAN NOT be refunded. It may happen that due to technical issues, some applicants may end up paying the registration fee more than once. In that case, the university will refund the extra amount on producing the proof of payment, ONLY after the completion of the entire admission procedure.

Submission of extra forms for EC / FV / DA / GU Employee quota
A
Those seeking admission under any reservations/quota (viz. Differently abled/disabled, sons and daughters of permanent GU employees in service, fringe village and extra-curricular & co-curricular activities, etc.), Will have to submit additional prescribed forms separately into the Office of the Secretary University Classes, GU (Room No. 14) on or before the last date of application.
B
One seat in each subject may be offered for admission to MA/MSc/MCom/MTech courses to students who have shown extraordinary proficiency in Extra- curricular activities in the last three years preceding graduation. Events of sports and other EC activities will be those incorporated in the inter University sports / Cultural / Literary Competition. Any sports event organised by an association must be recognised by and affiliated to the national body for that sport/event and by Indian Olympic Association.

Any student having more than five years of gap period is not eligible for admission.
Criteria of selection for Extra-Curricular & Co-Curricular quota
Preference will be given to candidates in the following order:
Those who represented the country in International events.
Those who won prizes at recognised National level events.
Those who won prizes in the Inter-University sports/Cultural/Literary events.
Those who represented Gauhati University in the Inter-University Sports/ Cultural/Literary meet or the State at National events.
Those who won prizes in the Inter-College Youth Festival, G.U. and Inter-College Sports Meet, under G.U. Sports Board.
Those who won prizes at recognised State level competitions.
Students who were awarded fellowships/ scholarships by Central Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Youth Welfare for excellence in art, culture & sports etc.
Criteria of selection under NCC & NSS quota
Those who have obtained NCC ‘C’ Certificate or have participated in the Republic Day Parade under NCC.
Those who have obtained NCC ’B’ Certificate or have participated in the Republic Day Parade under NCC. (This is applicable only for the students applying for admission into integrated courses).
Those who represented the University in NSS Camp at National Level. These certificates need to be obtained in the last three years preceding admission.
