Specific Eligiblility Criteria

For all subjects, which DO NOT indicate any eligibility criteria, the eligibility criteria is a minimum of 24 Credits in the concerned subjects in graduation.

M.A. in Comparative Indian Literature

Graduate in any MIL or in English having a minimum 24 credits are eligible to apply

M.A. in English Language & English Lamguage Teaching (ELT)

Graduate in arts, science and commerce with minimum 24 credits in English are eligible to apply

M.A. in Linguistics

Graduate in arts, science and commerce with minimum 24 credits in English are eligible to apply

M.A. in Mass Communication

Graduate in any subject with minimum 24 credits are eligible to apply

M.A. in Psychology

Applicants with Education, Philosophy, Medical Sciences (including Ayurvedic and Homeopathic medicine), Nursing and Home Science in graduation with minimum 24 credits can apply. 

M.A. in Sociology

Any graduate with 10+2+3 pattern with minimum 24 credits in honours or regular course are eligible to apply.

M.A. in Women's Studies

Any graduate with 10+2+3 pattern with minimum 24 credits in honours or regular course are eligible to apply

M.L.I.Sc. (Masters in Library & Information Science)

Any graduate with 10+2+3 pattern with minimum 24 credits in honours or regular course are eligible to apply

M.Sc. in Biotechnology / 
M.Sc. in Herbal Science & Technology

Any of the following:

M.Sc. in Radiological Physics


Reservation Rule

Out of the 10 (ten) seats, 20% of seats will be reserved for students of all the North Eastern States other than the State of Assam. The remaining 80% of seats are open to the students of all North East States including the State of Assam. Reservation rules of The government of Assam are applicable on these 80% seats only. If suitable candidates from above reserved quota are not available these will be filled up from the general quota.

For a student with new CBCS course in Bachelor Degree, a student must have 24 credit in any of the following subjects

OR


For non-CBCS Bachelor Degree course applicants satisfying any one of the following qualifications or equivalent qualifications:

Candidates must have Mathematics (securing at least the minimum pass mark without grace) as a subject/paper at 10+2 level. The minimum percentage of marks required at the TDC level is 45% in aggregate (in the Major course only for candidates having Major in Computer Science). For candidates having P.G.D.C.S.A. (Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Science and Application) or P.G.D.C.A. (Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Application) the minimum requirement is 45% in aggregate at the degree examination and P.G.D.C.S.A./P.G.D.C.A. individually.

M.Sc. in Electronics and Communication Technology /
M.Sc. in Microelectronics and advance Communication 

Applicants completeing three-year B.Sc. programmes in Electronics / Physics / Instrumentation / Computer Science / Mathematics from any Indian University recognized UGC with minimum 24 credits are eligible to apply

M.Sc. in Environmental Management

B.Sc. (10+2+3 pattern) with minimum 24 credits are eligible to apply

M.Sc. in Environmental Science

Any Science graduate with 10+2+3 pattern with minimum 24 credits in honours or regular course are eligible to apply

M.Sc. in Instrumentation & Applied Physics

B.Sc. with Instrumentation / Physics / Electronics / Mathematics with minimum 24 credits are eligible to apply

M.Sc. in Microbiology

B.Sc. in Agriculture / Biochemistry / Botany / Biotechnology / Microbiology / Zoology with minimum 24 credits are eligible to apply

M.Sc. in Wildlife Science

B.Sc. in Zoology (both Honours and Pass Course) / B.Sc. in Botany (both Honours and Pass Course) / B.Sc. in Forestry / Undergraduate course in Biotechnology with minimum 24 credits are eligible to apply

M.Tech. in Information Technology

M.Tech. in Material Science & Technology

Any of the following:

M.T.M. (Masters in Tourism Management)

Any graduate with minimum 24 credits are eligible to apply

M.T.M. (Masters in Tourism Management)

Any graduate with minimum 24 credits are eligible to apply

M.A. in Folklore Studies

Students having major course / general course in any language / literature discipline or social sciences and with 50% marks in Degree course. Graduates with Folklore as a major / general subject will be given preference.

M.Tech. in Bioprocess Technology

B.Tech in Biotechnology/Bioengineering & Biotechnology/Biochemical Engineering/Bioprocess Technology/Food Process Technology/Industrial Biotechnology/any other relevant branch.

Or

M.Sc in Biotechnology/Microbiology/Molecular Biology & Biotechnology/ Biochemistry/ any other relevant branch.
